Pupil Premium

Schools receive additional funding for any pupils who have been eligible for free school meals during the last six years; pupils who are looked after by the local authority or who are in care and for pupils from families where a parent serves in the armed forces. This money is known as the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG).  

Our strategy is a balance between longer-term sustainable approaches to supporting the quality of teaching through ed professional development and shorter-term targeted interventions. 

By adopting the above strategy, we empower our colleagues to do what is right for our children based on their knowledge of our children’s needs. As a Trust we will review the impact of the funding at termly Partnership Visits, Annual Roundtable and regular governor meetings. This will be a standing agenda item at the Trust Board’s Quality of Education Committee where we will review the implementation and impact of the Recovery Premium in our fifteen schools.

We have agreed that our Trust strategic priorities  are: 

  • Identify and address the vulnerabilities and challenges across our schools , communities and Central Team (F-T1)
  • Enable great educators who have a strong moral purpose(F-T2)
  • Provide a great education (F-T3)
  • Support great health and wellbeing for all (F-T4)
  • Improve outcomes for the whole child (F-T5)

We will take a strategic approach to deploying the funding and ensure that ‘Catch up is an outcome, not an activity’ (Amanda Speilman)
